 My husband took this picture with his little point and shoot camera when he recently went on a trip to Oregon / Washington -- a trip that I didn't get to go on because of work.

Now I have SERIOUS vacation envy.

sitting here, i could almost believe i'd had that beach vacation after all.

Today I Am...

relieved that we weathered the storm with no substantial damage,
grateful that friends and family we have spoken with are well,
hopeful that no news is good news from those we haven't heard from yet,
saddened by the loss and tragedy we see on the news,
praying for all.

I would have a mermaid on the porch roof

(and tennis courts for very talented guests)

If I had a house by the sea
I would surely paint it pink.

The interior would be white and warm tan and turquoise and green and pink and orange.

(Except for the bedroom, which I would paint grey and tan and then fill with pillows covered in soft muted colors -- the color of the beach on an overcast and foggy morning in December.)

If I only had a house by the sea... you would all be invited to come visit.
